Privacy Policy
Last updated: 11 August 2026
Who we are
This policy covers voidsmithindustries.com (this website only — see "Other Voidsmith products and third-party links" below). It is operated by Voidsmith Industries, an individual trading in the United Kingdom under that name. For the purposes of UK and EU data protection law, Voidsmith Industries is the "data controller" of any personal data collected through this site.

Information we collect
This site is deliberately low on data collection. Here is everything it gathers:
- Contact form. The form on the Home page asks for your name, email address, and message. Submitting it opens your own email client with those details pre-filled — the site itself does not transmit the form to a server or database. If you go on to send that email, it arrives in our inbox like any other email and is handled as described under "How long we keep information" below.
- Standard web server logs. Like almost every website, our hosting server automatically logs each request, including your IP address, the page requested, the time, and your browser's user agent string. This is standard technical logging used for security and troubleshooting, not for tracking individuals.
- Google Fonts. This site loads the Inter and Sora typefaces and the Material Symbols icon set directly from Google Fonts' servers. Loading a font causes your browser to request it from Google, which — per Google's own policies — may log standard request data such as your IP address. We do not control this logging; see Google's privacy policy for details.
This site does not set cookies, run analytics or tracking scripts, use advertising pixels, or have user accounts, logins, or payment processing.
How we use your information, and our legal basis
- Responding to your message. If you email us (via the contact form or directly), we use your name, email address, and message content to reply to you. Legal basis: legitimate interests (responding to inquiries you've initiated) and, where applicable, taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
- Server logs. Used only to keep the site secure, diagnose faults, and prevent abuse. Legal basis: legitimate interests (running a secure, reliable website).
We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling, and we do not sell, rent, or share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Cookies
This site does not set cookies of its own, and does not use any cookie-based analytics or advertising. No cookie consent banner is shown because none is needed. If that changes in the future, this policy will be updated first.
Who we share information with
- Hosting provider. The infrastructure provider hosting this site processes standard server logs as described above, as our data processor.
- Google Fonts. As described above, Google may log standard request data when your browser fetches fonts.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with any other third party, advertiser, or data broker.
International transfers
Google Fonts is operated by Google, which processes data on servers located around the world, including outside the UK/EEA. Where this happens, Google relies on its own safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for these transfers — see Google's privacy policy for details. We do not otherwise transfer personal data internationally.
How long we keep information
- Emails you send us are kept for as long as reasonably necessary to handle your inquiry and for our own records, then deleted or archived in the ordinary course of email housekeeping.
- Server access logs are automatically rotated and deleted after approximately 14 days.
Your rights under UK/EU GDPR
If you're in the UK or EEA, you have the right to:
- Ask what personal data we hold about you and get a copy of it (right of access)
- Ask us to correct inaccurate data (right to rectification)
- Ask us to delete your data (right to erasure), subject to legal exceptions
- Ask us to restrict or object to certain processing
- Ask for your data in a portable format, where applicable (right to data portability)
- Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@voidsmithindustries.com. We'll respond within one month.
Your rights if you're in California
If you're a California resident, the CCPA (as amended by the CPRA) gives you the right to know what personal information we've collected about you, request its deletion, and request correction of inaccurate information, and protects you from discrimination for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA, so no "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" opt-out is needed — there's nothing to opt out of. We honor Global Privacy Control signals as a matter of policy, though since we don't sell or share data, this has no practical effect on your experience. To exercise your rights, email hello@voidsmithindustries.com.
Children's privacy
This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your jurisdiction). If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we'll delete it.
Other Voidsmith products and third-party links
This policy covers voidsmithindustries.com only. Voidsmith Industries' own products — including Nexis, DungeonMasterOS, and CIEL — are separate applications with their own data practices; where they collect personal data (for example, game accounts or characters), that is governed by their own privacy notices, not this one. The Portfolio page also links to and hosts pages for a separate client's own website; that content belongs to and is operated by that client, and this policy does not apply to it.
How to complain
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your personal data, please contact us first at hello@voidsmithindustries.com so we can try to put it right.
If you're not satisfied with our response, UK residents can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO):
- Website: ico.org.uk
- Helpline: 0303 123 1113
- Post: Information Commissioner's Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF, United Kingdom
If you're in the EU, you can also complain to your local data protection supervisory authority.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site or the law changes. Material changes will update the "Last updated" date above; check back periodically.
